Dr. Soliman Fakeeh hospital has made many achievements since its inauguration. Some of these include:
1985: DSFH was the first hospital in the private sector to perform Renal Transplantation.
1990: The first Heart Transplant Operation in the Western Region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
1995: The first discovery in the Kingdom and the reporting to the World Health Organization of Dengue hemorrhagic fever virus isolated at the Virology Lab.
1996: Isolation of a new flavivirus at the Virology Lab. The result was confirmed at the Center for Disease Control in the United States. Subsequent success with the control of further spread of the disease was remarkable.
2003:Establishment of Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Nursing College.
2004:DSFH was the first hospital in the private sector to perform Bone Marrow Transplantation.
2005:Accreditation by the Makkah Region Quality Program (now called Central Board of Accreditation for Healthcare International)
2006:DSFH was the first hospital in the private sector to perform Liver Transplantation.
2006:Establishment of The Patient Teaching Centre (PTC), a medical information and education hub with the cooperation of Saudi Arabian oil giant, ARAMCO.
2006: Accreditation by the Joint Commission International. DSFH was the first private hospital in the Western Region of the Kingdom to acquire this accreditation.
2007: DSFH extended its clinical services to include the Interventional Neuro-radiology techniques for various endovascular treatments.
2007:DSFH was the first to bring in the Volume Computed Tomography machine (VCT)-64 slices to the Kingdom.
2008:Accreditation by The Australian Council for Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI).
2008:The hospital has published its first report on Social Responsibility, which is the first of its kind in the healthcare sector in Middle East and Asia. And the hospital recently published its second report on Corporate Social Responsibility.
2009: The hospital receives a certificate of appreciation as DSFH was one of the best 7 performers out of 100 companies kingdom wide on Corporate Social Responsibility based on the Saudi Responsible Competitiveness Initiative and No.1 in the healthcare sector.
2009:DSFH was reaccredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) for the second time.
2010:: DSFH received the 4th place in King Khalid Award for Sustainability during the Global Competitiveness Forum.
2011: DSFH implemented (ISO14001:2004) and (OSAS 18001:2007) standards and it is applying the standards of occupational safety and environment protection accordingly.
2011: DSFH received the third place in King Khalid Award for Sustainability during the Global Competitiveness Forum.
2011:DSFH won the "Excellence in Patient Centered Care Award" as part of the yearly Achievement and innovation Awards of Arab Health exhibition. Those awards are given for a number of individuals and institutions in recognition of their outstanding achievements and contributions in supporting and developing the sector of health and medical care in the Arab region. 2011: DSFH CSR 2011 report was accepted and verified for an A+ level based on the GRI guidelines. By doing so, DSFH is the first cooperation/organization in KSA and the first hospital in the health care sector in the Middle East and Africa and one of very few hospitals worldwide to achieve this level of reporting.
2012: Dr. Mazen Fakeeh, the Director General of DSFH has received the "Outstanding Contribution of an Individual to the Middle East Healthcare Industry Award" during the Gala Dinner of the 2012 Arab Health Achievement and Innovation Award, held in Dubai on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, during the Arab Health Conference and Exhibition.
This award recognizes an outstanding healthcare professional that has made a significant contribution to the healthcare industry in the Middle East and have demonstrated a lifetime commitment to develop the industry. The judging panel was made up of internationally recognized and respected judges from a variety of industry sectors and disciplines.
