The department of radiology at DSFH is a 24 hour full-service and highly specialized department that strives to meet all patients' needs in diagnostic imaging and therapeutic interventional procedures. It performs over 115,000 procedures each year.
The most important equipment, facilities and procedures available at the department include:
Digital Operation: The world's most advanced PACS/RIS system from SIEMENS Company offering a completely computerized digital operational environment for appointments, image production and reporting.
Computed Tomography: Three CT machines, including the most recent 64 slice VCT-XT that is capable of performing coronary and body angiography without catheterization.
Magnetic Resonance: Three MRI machines including two 1.5T machines and an open MR for claustrophobic patients.
Angiography and other interventional procedures including Neuro-intervention for brain Aneurysm Coiling
Nuclear Imaging: 2 dual head SPECT Gamma cameras offering the best in Nuclear Medicine Service.
Mammography: For screening and early detection of breast cancer. Also breast ultrasonography, biopsy and stereo tactic localization.
Ultrasonography: State-of-the-art ultrasound machines including 3D/4D ultrasound, Doppler studies and all ultrasound guided biopsies and interventional procedures.
Bone Densitometry: DXA BMD for early detection of Osteoporosis.
Plain and Contrast X-Ray examinations: 15 plain Radiography and Fluoroscopy Machines covering the full range of plain radiography and contrast studies of all systems.
2010: DSFH Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging Department was nominated for the “Excellence in Imaging & Diagnostics Award” of the Arab Health Achievement and innovation Awards as one of the 3 finalists.
2011: DSFH Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging Department was, for the second time in a row, nominated for the “Excellence in Imaging & Diagnostics Award” of the Arab Health Achievement and innovation Awards as one of the 3 finalists.
