Over the last two decades, it has become an international trend that hospitals, dedicated to providing services of high quality to their patients, seek to acquire standard assurances and accreditations of that high quality service. Such accreditations not only document the level of performance in those hospitals in relation to international established standards of quality and safety, but, they also provide the best medium for progress and improvement through regular auditing and constant re-evaluation and re-accreditation.
DSFH applied for and acquired three major accreditations in the field of hospital quality over the period from 2005 to 2008. Those were:
1. Central Board of Accreditation for Healthcare International (previously, Makkah Region Quality Program): Accredited on May 2, 2005.
2. The Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA): Accredited on July 27th, 2006. The JCI accreditation is a comprehensive assessment for hospitals that encompasses 14 standards that include assessment of patients, how care is delivered to patients, quality and patient safety, governance and leadership, facility management and safety, and how hospitals control infections.
DSFH was the first hospital in the private sector in the Western region of the Kingdom to be JCI accredited, and it was re-accredited in 2009.
DSFH is now in the process of being reaccredited by JCI.

3. The Australian Council for Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI): Accredited May 8th, 2008. It is the belief of DSFH that multiple accreditations will increase performance credibility and will ensure that best standards of care are met in a more comprehensive manner.
EQuIP is the Evaluation and Quality Improvement Program, developed and conducted by the ACHS. By working within the EQuIP framework, members create a quality improvement culture within which to implement, monitor and continually improve processes and systems.
DSFH is now in the process of being reaccredited by ACHSI.

4. DSFH has implemented ISO and OSAS standards: (ISO14001:2004) and (OSAS 18001:2007) where the hospital passed the evaluation process by an accredited team of ISO and have succeeded in applying the standards of occupational safety and environment protection.
